Important Details:
This event is off-campus (See below for details) Dates: Jan. 20 and 21, 2018 Location: Middleton, Wisconsin Esser Pond (On Madison's west-side) Commitment: One 4-5 hour shift Description: The Mad City Pond Hockey Championships raise funds for pancreatic cancer research at the UW Carbone Cancer Center. The Mad City Pond Hockey Championships are seeking volunteers for Saturday and Sunday, January 20th and 21st. Since many of you will be in Madison after the Winter Trip, this would be a great opportunity to pass the time and get involved for your continuing support of SBC. Volunteer activities include score-keeping/officiating and you will be taught the rules, while teams do a good job of self-officiating on their own. Games are 30 minutes in length and following each game you can retreat to the heated tent for a 30-minute break to warm-up. Each volunteer is expected to help for a four to five-hour shift and volunteers will receive 3 points for their work. Please contact Zach Epstein to receive volunteer credit or with any inquiries, especially regarding carpooling or Ubering to the event together.
